The impact strength of functional design of flexible packaging

       Impact strength is one of the most important mechanical properties of materials. Impact performance test is to determine the impact strength of the material under the impact load, in order to measure the toughness of the polymer material under the high-speed impact state or the resistance to fracture, also known as impact toughness. Different materials or different uses can choose different impact test methods, commonly used methods are pendulum impact test (including simply supported beam impact and cantilever beam impact), falling dart impact test, falling ball impact test, etc.


Test method:

1. Test method for resistance to pendulum impact. The hemispherical punch of the pendulum type film impact testing machine impacts and passes through the plastic film at a certain speed, and measures the energy consumed by the punch, so as to evaluate the impact resistance energy of the plastic film.

2. method of free fall. Under the impact of free falling dart at a given height, the energy of 50% plastic film and sheet pattern is measured when it is damaged.

3. Method for falling ball impact. It is mainly used to test the impact performance of blister packaging sheet.
