The Modern Packaging Film
Cast Polypropylene (CPP)
CPP can generally be classified into the following types of films
Printing serves as the primary means for communication between products packaged in composite flexible packaging and consumers. The main printing methods for flexible packaging are gravure printing and flexographic printing.
1. Manufacturing technique of multi-layer co-extruded film
Generally speaking, multi-layer co-extruded technology is to melt and extrude different resin raw materials with different functions by 5 or more extruders, integrating advantages of various materials. It helps to control cost effectively and adjust the film structure based on demand with wide application scope.
Retort pouch is a type of food processing packing made from multiple layers of flexible laminates like PP, PE etc. With the excellent physical properties and tolerance to high temperature, it can be retorted at 250°F (120°C) for 50-55 minutes, which makes it well applied to heated food packaging.
In the field of flexible packaging Composite film, the frequently-used composite substrates include: biaxially polyester film (BOPET), Biaxially oriented Polypropylene (BOPP), biaxially oriented nylon film (BOPA),Casting polypropylene film(CPP), casting polyethylene (CPE), blowing PE, etc., and part of the films above with surface treatment of coating or steam modification. Besides the traditional substrate materials above, with the rapid development, the co-extruded composite film is also widely used in flexible packaging.
Ink is an essential material used in printing, serving as the substance that forms textual and graphic information during the printing process. It directly determines the tone, color, clarity, and other aspects of the images on the printed product. With the advancement of printing technology, the variety of inks continues to grow, and there are various methods of classification.
Pasteurization, also known as low-temperature disinfection or cold sterilization, is a method of disinfection that kills bacteria at relatively low temperatures. Widely used in food processing, it preserves the freshness and taste of food while minimizing the loss of nutritional components.
Packaging’s tensile strength and elongation are essential when it comes to the packaging strength. The heat sealing strength, pressure resistant property, drop performance and puncture resistance of packaging are all closely related to it.
(1) Biaxially Oriented Polyester Film Production Process
1.Ingredients and Mixing: The primary raw material required for the production of biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) film is polyester film masterbatch. Depending on specific requirements, substances such as silica, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, etc., can be added. Additionally, different types of polyester film masterbatch, such as APET or PETC, can be chosen based on the production process requirements to achieve specific functionalities.
